Our Consultation Process

During your laser eye surgery consultation, your optometrist will perform a variety of tests and measurements to find out if you are a good candidate for laser eye surgery. The tests will assess factors such as the thickness of your cornea, pupil size, and current prescription.

Your eye doctor will then explain what to expect during laser eye surgery, the benefits, and potential risks. If you have any questions during your consultation, please don’t hesitate to ask our friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Types of Laser Eye Surgery

Finding the right solution for your eyes is our priority. We work with professional and trustworthy ophthalmologists to give you the best possible results.

LASIK

Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, better known as LASIK, is an option to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. The ophthalmologist will use a laser to reshape your cornea to improve the way light focuses on your retina.

There is little downtime with LASIK, and vision improvements can be noticed as soon as the next day.

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) uses a laser programmed to your specific eye measurements. A pulsing beam of ultraviolet light reshapes the cornea, treating the refractive error.

PRK has a longer recovery time than LASIK but is a good option for individuals with thinner corneas who may not be the right candidate for LASIK.
