Maintain Your Eye Health With Routine Eye Exams
Our eyes change as we get older. Coming in for a comprehensive eye exam can help us detect early signs of eye disease and provide up-to-date treatment options for you.
Our team at Forest City Optometry can help determine if you need corrective lenses or other treatments on the path to better vision.
We care about your eyes and how they play a part in your overall health and well-being. Visit us for an eye exam today.
Is It Time to Book Your Next Eye Exam?
Regular eye exams are essential at any age. We pride ourselves on low wait times for your routine eye exams and same-day bookings for urgent eye care.
The Canadian Association of Optometrists suggests:
- Adults aged 20–39 should come in for an eye exam every 2–3 years
- Adults aged 40–64 should come in for an eye exam every 2 years
- Adults aged 65+ should come in for an eye exam every year
You may need more frequent eye exams if you have a history of family eye disease or any vision or health conditions. Upon examination, your optometrist can recommend an exam schedule to suit you.
Why Eye Exams Are Important
It’s normal to see changes in your vision as you age. Coming in for a comprehensive eye exam can protect your eyes and prevent age-related eye conditions from progressing, leading to vision loss or blindness.
We use the latest cutting-edge technology to detect and track any changes we see and are happy to address any questions or concerns you may have. Let us know if you have had any sudden changes in your vision.
Early detection is critical for your best vision. Let us help you see clearer and book an appointment!
What We Do
At Forest City Optometry, we want to provide you with an easy and effective experience. You can expect a friendly face to welcome you in.
During your exam, we will go over your medical history and answer questions you may have. We will then examine your eyes thoroughly and ensure your prescription is updated.
Next, we will go through several tests to determine the status of your eye health. These tests can include:
- Cover test (eye alignment)
- Ocular motility test (eye movements)
- Stereopsis test (depth perception)
- Retinoscopy (determines prescription)
If we detect any signs of vision problems, we will tailor a treatment plan for you.
Let us help you see better!
